Last night, I went with friends to see The Merry Widow. I am totally hooked. I plan on going to the opera as much as I can. I cannot believe how much fun it was. The Merry Widow is a good way to be introduced to the opera. Who knew that an opera could be a comedy? I had an amazing time with my friends. I thank God for the friends that I have.
I don’t have many friends. I know that I have my built in friends, aka my sister’s Irene and Marcie, my niece Melanie and my nephew’s Charlie and Matthew. Of course, I can’t forget my most built in friend I have, my mother. I know that no matter what, my built in friends aren’t going anywhere, because in return I am their built in friend. I am going to be there when they need me, I pray for them as much as I pray for myself and of course they are family. In my family, family will always be there to catch you when you fall. My mother is always there to pick me up when I have gotten myself in over my head and I would do the same for her if she needs me too.
Since the hubby and I have moved to Texas, I have been reaching out and making friends, but handing your heart over to someone new is hard. How do you know who to trust with your heart?
I turned to a book that I bought recently [Find it Fast in the Bible] to see where in the Bible friendship was talked about and I found a scripture to share. In the Find it Fast in the Bible book, it comes under consistent friendship.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed.
Jesus is my friend and I am not crushed, not in despair, not abandoned and not destroyed. It is because Jesus is my friend.
It takes me a long time to trust and find earthly friends who will not crush me, will not make me despair, will not destroy me and will not abandon me in my time of need. I have found that friend and she has become very special to me. The more we hang out together, the more she has become family. I now consider Emily my sister. She is way more than just a friend, she is family. I wanted to shout it to the world, that I have an amazing friend. Thank you for being a great friend Emily!
Again, I ask you to pray for my family and I will continue to pray for you. Thank you so much for reading my blog.
I pray you have a very blessed day.
