What religion are you? This was the question I was asked today and I wasn’t sure how to answer my friend. I spent years at the Catholic Church when I dated a guy who was of the Catholic faith, I love going to the Episcopal Church with my Aunt Penny and Uncle Bob. I went to the Nazarene Church with my Mom and Dad. When I went to church with my Grandma Mae, we attended the Presbyterian Church. When I lived in Texas before, I attended Calvary Baptist Church where my Father-in-law was our minister. For a while I went to the New Beginnings Church with my mom and my aunt Penny. After Nick and I met, we attended a Methodist Church and then our church became a satellite church of LifeChurch.tv. I now go to PraiseChurch.tv.
So, answering the “what religion are you” question is hard for me to answer. When I was eight I decided that I wanted to be a daughter of Christ and at 44, I know that I still want to be God’s daughter.
I am not sure which church I have been too is my favorite. There are a few that I did enjoy more than others, but I can truly say that I liked going to each and every church. I learned something new from each church I have attended.
Nick and I were baptized together at Life Church. I stepped forward and volunteered at Life Church and that is the only church that I wanted to volunteer.
Here in Beaumont, there is a television channel that broadcasts everything to do with the Catholic religion. I find myself watching that channel more than every other channel in our cable package. I love listening to Mother Angelica speak. All of the shows with Mother Angelica are recordings of her previous live shows. If you want to know about Mother Angelica, she does have a Facebook page which I will link for you. (Mother Angelica Facebook Page)
When I watch Mother Angelica, she has this twinkle in her eyes that makes me think that when she was younger, she was a spitfire. She doesn’t sugarcoat her messages and sometimes I want to hear the word of God without it being all flowery. I just want to get to the meat of the message where I can learn more about the word of God.
I am very happy being Nick’s wife but when I look at Mother Angelic, she looks so very happy being the Mother she is. Sometimes, I wonder what it would be like to be a nun, where you can focus on doing God’s work every day.
I also like to watch TBN when there are television shows that depict the lives of people from the Bible. Nick and I watched the story of Joseph and I enjoyed it very much.
Right now, I am on what I am calling My God Walk. I have been to so many churches and overall message is to believe and have faith in God. My dear friend Emily, who I am dragging along on my God Walk tells me that her mother would be thrilled to know she was being included in my God walk.
I believe in God, I believe that Jesus died on the cross so that my sins would be forgiven and that if I believe, have faith in God and that I have accepted God into my heart that I am a Christian. I am proud to be God’s daughter and it is time for me in my life to walk with God. This is the reason that my blog has come about. I want to know as much as I can about God, Jesus, the men and the women of the Bible. I believe that the more knowledge I can gain from my Bible, the more there is for me to share with my friends, family and people who approach me from reading my blog. I want to be ready when God needs me to do something.
John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
My answer to this scripture is YES, YES, YES!
Again, I would like to ask you for prayers for my family for the trial that they are going through and I would like to ask you to pray for a friend of mine. She is going through her whole life being turned upside down.
I pray your Tuesday is blessed.
