How I Met My Husband Cont.

Yesterday’s post left off after Nick and I had met face to face for the first time. Today, I continue a few months after that and we meet for the second time. I hope you are enjoying how he and I met. I must admit that I am really enjoying the walk down memory lane. I had to text Nick at work and ask him to clarify some details, because some of the memories are not there anymore. I lost them being in a coma.

A couple of months later, I was back on a plane to go see my boyfriend. When I got off the plane this time, his family was there to meet me. We all went out to lunch and spent more time just getting to know each other. After another whirlwind weekend, I was back home in Pennsylvania where I didn’t want to be, but there I was.

I was very unhappy to be back in Pennsylvania and wanted to be in Florida with Nick. I was miserable at home, miserable at work, miserable with everything. I was unhappy with my job. I was unhappy being on midnight turn and working with a group of men who did not want to listen to a woman. It was just miserable all the way around and then I had a fight with family and I was done. I decided I wanted to be in Florida with Nick.

I talked to Nick and we decided together that I should come to Florida where we could see each other and continue to date. So, I packed what would fit in to my Grand Am, and I was on the road to be with Nick.

I can remember the day that I arrived at Nick’s. I pulled into the driveway right behind his Father and when he got out of his car, he came over and gave me a big hug and welcomed me. I was very relieved to be there with Nick’s family.

I got a job at Lowe’s, which was pretty easy because I had worked at Lowe’s in Pennsylvania and they hired me without much issue. They even assigned me the same employee number.

Nick and I lived with his family until we got married. He and I did not even sleep in the same bed. It was nice to be with a man who wanted me for me and not what I could give him. Nick is a real gentleman. A year after I moved to Florida, we were married in his parent’s back yard. We had 75 guests under a giant white tent and pledged our love and lives to each other. It was one of the best moments of my life. My family came from all over, a few of my friends came and Nick’s grandparents came from Pensacola and it was a beautiful wedding.

How many people can say they had a computer DJ their wedding? Have a friend making balloon animals for your guests? Your ring bearer run around the reception playing with a sword made out of paint sticks? Have the whole wedding party insulted by the caterer? She said we were all fat! Our wedding was very unique but it was a wonderful time.

After the wedding reception, we went with a few people from my family to TGIF, and got to hang out with my out of town family. We then went to a wonderful hotel where we promptly fell asleep after watching cartoons and eating junk food. A perfect honeymoon for us.

We moved into an apartment about a mile from the ocean and settled into married life. I am so very happy to be Nick’s wife. I couldn’t have asked for a better husband. I am a very lucky woman. He stuck with me through some major life illness and issues.

One note, there are some people who thought Nick marrying me was the biggest mistake of his life but here we are, coming up on our 9th wedding anniversary.

If you want to know more, stay tuned!

I pray your day is blessed.
