Hooray, it’s July and the first day of Camp NaNoWriMo!! (National Novel Writing Month)
Emily and I came to Sertinos to drink too much coffee and write. I managed to double the word count that I needed for day one of Camp Nano. Emily and I are so much alike and we like talking to each other and sometimes it gets in the way of our word counts.
My Camp Nano project this year is “Telling My Story: Memories Past.” Just as it says, I am writing my own story. I think my story is unique. When I came out of the coma, I lost the memories of my younger years and just recently they have returned. I have been sharing my memories with my friends and they believe my memoir is worth sharing.
I am hoping that my family and friends are comfortable appearing in my memoir. I will share it with those who want to read it beforehand and make name changes if they are uncomfortable.
I believe writing my story will not only take Camp Nano, but I will run into NaNoWriMo in November. Who knows how long it will take me to get it written? It’s not the easiest thing to write. I am remembering the good along with the bad. I am writing it all because I believe it will be good for me mentally to get it out of my head.
I feel like I need to explain my last blog post. I don’t really hate the state of Texas but I do hate some of their policies. I am having a difficult time with getting my driver’s license situated. I have been fighting for it for over a year, but according to Texas they don’t believe who I am.
I guess the state of Texas believes that I have a lot of paperwork that belongs to someone else as they don’t believe I am me. I am working on getting one last piece of identification and I am sure Texas will want something else. Every time I go back to the DMV, they ask for something new. I guess I need to find a judge to verify who I am. Gah, I do hate TEXAS!
Almost every time I take part in a NaNoWriMo, I make a fundraiser page and attempt to help Nation Novel Writing Month. They do so much good with the money they raise. Their mission statement:
National Novel Writing Month believes in the transformational power of creativity. We provide the structure, community, and encouragement to help people find their voices, achieve creative goals, and build new worlds—on and off the page.

For any donation, I will add your name to the acknowledgment page and for donations of $10 or more, I will share the first two chapters with you.
Well, that’s all for my first day of NaNo. I am going to try to post a few times during Camp Nano and keep you all in the writing loop.
Peace, Love & Happiness,
