How far does Donald Trump have to go before his supporters will see the damage he is doing to our country? When will they become true patriots of the United States and stand up for their fellow countryman?

I spend a lot of time on different social media platforms because I use social media to advertise my blog, talk to people who I follow and who follow me, to catch up with family and friends who I do not live close too and what I see makes me very sad. I see people who will do everything in their power to hurt one another with their words. It is downright ugly on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Sometimes the ugly words are aimed at me and I try not to take them to heart.

Donald Trump just yesterday said something that should scare even his staunchest supporters. At a fundraiser at Mar-a-lago, he said about the president of China who may have gotten his tenure extended, “He’s now president for life. President for life. No, he’s great,” Trump said. “And look, he was able to do that. I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll have to give that a shot someday.” That should scare anyone who believes in the constitution of this great country. (LINK)

One thing most presidents do not do is continue to go after their opponents after the election is over. This president wants to go after Hillary Clinton and try to jail her and his supporters continue to chant, “lock her up” at his rallies. Trump, repeatedly goes after Jeff Sessions because Sessions recused himself from any and all Russian investigations he was only following the law. As a non-politician, Trump doesn’t seem to understand the law.

Jeff Sessions said, “I recused myself not because of any asserted wrongdoing on my part during the campaign,” Sessions said. “But because a Department of Justice regulation, 28 CFR 45.2, required it.”

“That regulation states, in effect, that department employees should not participate in investigations of a campaign if they have served as a campaign advisor,” said Sessions. (LINK)

Those words should have stopped Trump from bashing Jeff Sessions, who was her personal pick for Attorney General.

Once Donald Trump took office he attempted to undo everything former President Obama did while he was in office. It doesn’t matter to Trump who he will hurt trying to undo everything Obama had done. I believe Trump did these things just to spite Obama. Donald Trump was a very outspoken “birther.” He [Trump] offered $5 million to charity if Obama proved he had been born in the United States. Obama showed the long form of his birth certificate, (LINK) which was immediately declared a forgery.

Then Trump offered $50 million if Obama unsealed his college records. Donald Trump eventually gave a brief statement that Obama was born in the United States. (LINK) Then in November of 2017 Trump went back to questioning Obama’s birth certificate. (LINK) How can you trust a man who continues to attack the former president and his opponent after more than a year has passed since the election he won. He acts as if he did not win and the only way to save face is to continue to go after he considers his enemies.

Donald Trump has allowed the Republicans to add $1.4 trillion to the deficit with a tax plan that benefits the top 1%. If you have a plane, you get a tax break. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have a plane and I don’t see me owning in the future. The tax break for the rest of us 99% will be small. The poorest individuals will see about $60, the middle class will see about $930 and the 95 to 99 percentile will see around $13,480. The .01% who are Donald and his buddies, they will see around $193,380 after the tax break.  (LINK)

So, how will our government pay for the added money to the deficit? They will take them out of medicare, medicaid, food stamps, social security, public schools (thank you, Betsy Devos), the EPA (goodbye clean water, fresh air, and our national monuments), and whatever public departments they can rob blind. If you think these won’t affect you and yours, if you are a hunter or fisherman, these will affect you. When the waterways in our country become so polluted, you won’t be able to eat the fish you catch. If you are a hunter, do you want to hunt where there are oil wells? The pipeline that runs through this country has had more than one leak. How does that affect the animals you hunt?

Our education system isn’t the top tier anymore. Our schools rank in the middle of the pack. (LINK) If those don’t affect you, what about if you have aging parents? Quite a few of the retired people living in nursing homes depend on social security. Without social security, we are going to have to help our parents out. I would love to have my mom and dad come live with me, but not everyone wants to have their parents live with them. Besides, social security is something we have paid into, so why does the government get to take it from us?

Betsy Devos wants to cut funding for public schools and put the funding into private schools that some kids would never be able to attend. Why does she want to defund where your kids go to school? If the schools go on a voucher system which Betsy Devos wants to happen if parents pull their kids out of public school and put them into private schools the funding goes with the children to the private school. If she pulls funding from public schools, we can say goodbye to after school programs, music programs, and art classes. Teachers in public schools are already paying for supplies out of their own pockets and now they cannot even claim those purchases on their taxes. Why are we not looking out for own?

When former President Obama came into office the one thing that was passed around social media repeatedly was that he would be coming for your guns. Did that happen? As far as I know, he didn’t outlaw one gun, did he? The NRA shouted from the rooftops that Obama was coming for your guns and it didn’t happen, did it? Maybe we shouldn’t take the NRA’s word as holy truth?

However, I watched Donald Trump say that cops should be able to take the guns first and then worry about due process.

Our president invited Russia to hack into Hillary Clinton’s email and that should have been a warning to his supporters. When a supporter asks me why, I tell them that if he is willing to invite a foreign power to break into another person’s property, what makes you think he wouldn’t do that to you? He may not know you now, but he has a lot of people and Russian bots who follow him on twitter and with one word, those people and bots will troll you and try to get you to leave Twitter. The hate that people will say to you on twitter is frightening. I have been told to kill myself, to play in traffic and that if I didn’t kill myself they would be happy to do it for me. This is the toxic rhetoric that is said daily on social media.

My words may make some upset, but if it makes one supporter rethink the man they are following blindly my job has been done. Some of his supporters follow along like they are in a cult and it is very scary. We are living through scary times. I am fortunate that my mom lets me talk to her and she helps me not feel so worried. I  hope that you have someone to turn too in these times. If you need shoulders mine are available.
