Good morning y’all,
Today (Sunday) Camp NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month, started. During the month of July, I will attempt to write 50,000 words. Which means I will attempt to write 1,613 words a day. During camp, your word count is flexible as your project, meaning we can write whatever we want during camp. I will be using words from two different projects and I will be counting the words I write for each blog post. One of the projects will be editing a young adult novel I wrote a couple of years ago and the other is a series of short stories for women that I hope to self-publish on Amazon. I will be attempting to manage all of this while keeping up with everyday life. I am determined to reach my goal because my bestie said he will buy me a Camp NaNo shirt if I do. I will keep y’all posted on my sanity throughout the month. 😊
I would like to say that I was surprised at the turnout for the protests that happened nationwide this weekend, but it goes to show that there are many Americans and people in other countries who believe what the Trump Administration is doing to children is wrong. I wasn’t able to attend any local events this weekend as my husband worked and we only have one car, but I did watch as much of the protests as I could on MSNBC. (I believe MSNBC is the fairest 24-hour news channel out there) I like to believe there are more people who care than there are Trump supporters.
Donald Trump and his zero-tolerance immigration policy toward people trying to come into the United States is barbaric. How dare he take children from their parents then deport the parents, then dump the children in tent cities or in cages inside former Walmart buildings. Who is supplying these places with camping equipment? Whoever it is, needs to be boycotted immediately. How dare people make money off these children and the plight they are in? In truth, the Trump Administration has kidnapped these poor children and some of the children have been put in foster care. Why were they not reunited with their parents before deportation?
According to the 98%, Bethany Christian Services (an adoption center) that has ties to Betsy DeVos is charging the government $700 a day for each child that has been placed with them. Do you see why the children have not been sent back with their parents? (LINK)
Hasn’t our country been down this road before? President Franklin Roosevelt began Japenese internment camps in 1942 through executive order. These were Japanese-Americans, that were rounded up and isolated into internment camps. Think about this, please. These were Americans that were rounded up and put into camps. If you don’t think Trump is above doing this exact thing, you’re wrong.
Donald Trump is a racist, we all know this. The first announcement of his candidacy was a lie about Mexican immigrants by saying, “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” (LINK) He assumes some are good people, but doesn’t he hire Mexicans, Hondurans, and other immigrants to work in his businesses? So, now that we have established Trump is a racist, what is to stop him from rounding up Americans, just like Roosevelt did? We know Donald Trump isn’t afraid to run the government by executive order.
Think about your friends and family. Do you have friends or family members who don’t fall under the “right-wing, Republican Christian” value system? I don’t fall under it, do you? If you have friends and family members who fall under the LGBTQ+ umbrella, do you think Trump supports them? Donald Trump, who said during the campaign that he supported the LGBTQ+ community quickly reversed all of that, didn’t he? This year, just as last year, Trump refused to recognize June as Pride Month. What if he decides that the people who don’t fall under the “right-wing, Republican Christian” value system are going to be put into camps, like the Japanese-Americans?
Now that we have started thinking about the people Donald Trump doesn’t like, think about your family and friends who would be someone that Trump was racist against? What about those family and friends who are not “white and Christian?” Do you think Trump would not put Mexican Americans in internment camps? Or people who are Muslim? Or people who are different? What about anyone who happens to be brown in color? Or who isn’t Christian?
The only thing I have going for me is that I am white. I no longer call myself a Christian because the right-wing Christians have perverted “Christianity” to something unrecognizable. How can the Republican Christians look at themselves in the mirror? How can they support a man who admitted that he sexually harassed women by grabbing them by the genitals or admitted to walking in on teenagers backstage at the Miss Teen USA competition? He walked in on girls that were as young as 15? (LINK)
How can Christians support a man who had sex with a porn star while his wife was home with their four-month-old child? He then lied about the affair, his attorney lied about the affair and then Trump admitted to paying Stormy Daniels $130,000 weeks before the election. How do they support a man who wouldn’t know the truth if it slapped him in the face?
How are we supposed to believe anything that comes out of Trump’s mouth? He may say he won’t round up Americans, but I wouldn’t believe a word he says. We need to stand up to this tyrant, because if we don’t we may end up with him for another four years. I keep praying that Meuller will find something and that Trump can be impeached. We need to elect as many Democrats as possible. Please, get registered to vote. We need your vote this November.
I am sorry for the doom and gloom blog post, but I have been thinking about this topic for a few days and it needed to be written.
I hope you have a lovely Monday. Please drink a diet Pepsi for me, I am giving up my beloved soda for good this time, I think.
Mawow and I wish you,
Peace, Love, & Kitty Snuggles
