Good morning y’all! I know it’s been a hot minute since I have updated this blog and I apologize for that. I would like to say that I was busy doing some wonderful project, that would further my writing career, but that was not the case. I had a friend come back into my life after seven long years and we spent time getting to know each other again. I flew out to Florida to see him and his family twice, he and I got back into play World of Warcraft together. I took part in Camp NaNoWriMo and shortly after that I found myself dealing with writer’s block.
While dealing with the writer’s block, I took a little vacation from the nonstop 24-hour Trump new cycle, I would like to say that I was able to escape the Trump news altogether but when you have a Facebook account you cannot escape it. Which is why I am starting to write again now, there is just so much happening right now and the midterm election is right around the corner. In fact, early voting begins today in Texas. Would you do me a favor? Find out when early voting begins in your area and get out and vote, please.
Donald Trump’s antics are getting more wild and crazy by the day. I know you are asking yourself, is this the first time she has noticed this? No, of course not, but I believe the reason he is acting crazier and crazier is to try to attempt to keep the 24-hour news cycle on him and not his Russian friends and Republican cronies trying to interfere in the midterm elections.
The Justice Department charged Elena Khusyaynova, 44, a St. Petersburg, Russia-based accountant, was charged in a criminal complaint with conspiracy to defraud the United States for taking part in a scheme to spend in excess of $10 million since the beginning of the year on targeted social media ads and web postings intended “to sow division and discord in the U.S. political system.” (LINK)
In my honest opinion, I believe Trump is willing to do and say anything to keep his base from seeing the truth. He has been doing non-stop rallies and praising people like Congressional Representative Greg Gianforte for attacking a reporter in 2017. Trump knew this would grab the headlines and Russian interference would be shifted to the back burner. The thing that really bothers me, especially as a writer, Trump doesn’t care that Jamal Khashoggi a reporter from the Washington Post was lured to his death. If he cared, he would not be getting his supporters to laugh about a reporter being “body slammed.”
So, what can we do? Well, first we need to get out and vote. If you are told you are not registered to vote and you know you are, ask for a provisional ballot. They cannot deny you a provisional ballot. If you see something strange at the polls, report it. (LINK)
If we are going to save this country, we have to disable Trumps ability to shove his wishes through his cronies in Congress. Please, get out and vote.
